Small birds on a rainy day

Siskin and Coal Tit from yesterday................

A very dark rainy day and not much evidence of migrants except lots of Dusky Thrush and lots of Siskins. the latter seemed to be everywhere. This species has been very common in south Hokkaido this winter/spring. Last winter there were loads of Redpolls but I haven't seen any so far in 2016.

These photos were from a flock near Onuma.

  1. Even on rainy, the birds are out as they need to eat. Lovely shots

  2. Siskins look like they are nibbling the leaf buds
