Winter fizzling out.............

We took a drive out west today, a pretty quiet late winter Sunday................

There were quite a few White Tailed Eagles around, the one above was very close but as is often the case my settings remained the same as the last time I had used the camera and weren't appropriate for today's weather and light. Lightroom rescued them a little but they aren't sharp at all......................

Also around were 3 Pacific or Black Throated Diver (too far off to ID), Bullfinch, Brent Goose, Black Necked Grebe, Great Egret, Whooper Swan as well as the usual common winter ducks and gulls..............

  1. Sometimes when I read of the tribulations you real photographers have, I am happier than ever with my little Canon Powershot SX50.....I just leave it on automatic, aim the camera and click. No doubt my pictures don't have the quality obtained with better equipment but they serve my purpose well enough.

    1. I have the same SX50 actually although I don't use it much, the IQ at high zooms just isn't there although it is a nice one size fits all camera and I have no complaints at the lower end of the zoom . O f course deep down I'm secretly terrified compact cameras will improve to such a degrree they'll render my absurdly expensive lenses and cameras obsolete.
