The stragglers............

Most of the eagles seem to  have left Yakumo..................and only a few stragglers remain.

About 10 or so at most I'd say. I guess the salmon have pretty much all been eaten and most of the eagles have dispersed around south Hokkaido or have already headed north. It was pretty cold this morning but spring isn't far off.............

The 2 Stellers I saw today looked pretty scrawny.

There were more White Taileds than Stellers..............here's an immature.

It was only a brief stop in Yakumo. Other stuff around included Whooper Swan and Smew. Earlier we stopped at Onuma. There were at least 6 Smew there as well as 5 Pintail.

  1. Saw a picture of Hokkaido on the news today. Problems with a plane and people were sliding down the emergency chute. Sure was a pile of snow there! Great eagle shots!
