Well it's approaching the end of another year....................
It was a mild winter but the eagles were very active in mid January and I got some nice shots, most of these were handheld at 700mm and taken from a bridge over the river in Yakumo.
These are all Stellers Sea Eagles..................
And these are White Tailed Eagles.............

I think autumn 2014 was a relatively poor Salmon winter so most of the eagles had gone by the end of January. I don't know what this winter will bring, I did see my first eagles of the season last week though.
Some magnificent pictures Stu. Must be brilliant seeing all that in front of you. I hope you get more high end pics this winter.

ReplyDeleteI have about an 8 week window when they are easyish to photograph. Unfortunately christmas/new year with all the crap which that entails, pretty short daylight hours and the coldest iciest road conditions of the year all coincide with eagle season..................
