More peregrines and dunlins............

We were in Yakumo on Sunday and Monday.............

The weather was lousy on Sunday but Monday was much better.

2 Peregrines were fighting, I missed getting a shot of them squabbling in the air but one flew right over my head................

There were 8 species of gull in Yakumo and Oshamanbe including some Kittiwake and my first Glaucous Gull of the winter. Several groups of swans were new arrivals and there were also 3 grey geese in the distance (Whitefronts I think) and 10 or so species of duck including my first Goldeneyes of the season. Still a few Dunlin around at Yakumo too.................

  1. Great captures of the peregrine. My best goshawk pic was when two were fighting. They let down their guard and ignore the humans who are watching. Still; you need to be on your toes to get such a superb picture in the wild.

    1. I always arrive at those scenes about 10 seconds late, or (as was the case last winter) the birds fly behind an obstacle just as they clash).

  2. Good fast focussing on the Peregrine, even if it was only rocketting over you! Bright light makes all the difference!
