Common birds of March

Yesterday I quickly checked Kamiiso to see if the Black Necked Grebes had come into summer plumage.....................

There was only one and it hadn't...................

Not much else, there was a herd of Whooper Swans resting in the ricefields presumably on their way north but little else of any interest.

Here are a few common birds from Onuma the other day................

Still no Waxwings in town. There seem to be be a lot around elsewhere in Hokkaido and i've seena few in Mori/Sawara but none in Hakodate yet. It looks like 2015 will not be a Crossbill year either.....................
