A Ural Owl in Onuma 3 years ago today. There are several holes where they appear in winter and this was a nice one close to the road. As the holes are invariably in dead trees their homes have a limited life.............this tree has since fallen and the Owls can no longer use it.
He looks so comfy in that hole. Great shot.

DeleteI well remember this series of shots... it's a pity the tree has fallen - like the owls you'll have to find another one !
ReplyDeleteThere was another one last year actually but it became so well known the Owl was disturbed and stopped using it. I saw one woman go right up to the tree with an iphone and the Owl flew off. The tree was eventually cordoned off with police style tape but by then it was too late...................
